Beijing Through my Eyes (Part 2 of 2)

Beijing has a lot to offer a tourist. To me, some of the sights are much more memorable than others because of the crazy situations I got into… Read on and check out my video! 😀

This post is continued from Beijing through my Eyes (Part 1 of 2).

Love at First Sight – The Great Wall of China

What does a “Wonder of the World” feel like? I think I know after seeing this one.  From the second I caught a glimpse of it, I knew it was going to be stunning. But it was much more than that.  It connects past civilizations with the present in a way that is impossible to describe in words.  Truly a masterpiece!  Its breath taking scenery and never ending length has left me with a memory to last forever.  Oh Great Wall, how could I not fall for you?

Stealing because my camera couldn’t have captured this

First View

Vertical Panorama View

I was lucky to have the window seat and had my first view of China as we finally approached land after flying over the Pacific for hours.  Saying that we were super duper excited is an understatement.

Back in the T.O!

The flight from Hong Kong to Vancouver was with Air Canada.  When I got on the airplane and sat down on my seat, I was in disbelief. CBC News was an option on the little TV screen before my eyes, there were Caucasians who weren’t tourists but flight attendants,  and English was spoken with proper grammar and in an accent that was not Asian.  I did not see all that coming! And then I got to Vancouver airport and had my first sighting of the Tim Hortons logo in six weeks.  That’s when I knew it really was happening – I was going home! (more…)

The Recipe for an Epic Summer

Life is not divided into semesters. You don’t get summers off, and very few employers are interested in helping you find yourself. Do that on your own time. ~ Bill Gates

What’s the best way to celebrate the end of 17 years of school? To go on a memorable vacation with your friends, of course! And that’s exactly what I’m doing. (I know… I can’t get over the fact that I’m done!)

Straight to the Top!

Yesterday was marked by celebrations for freedom.  It felt great and things couldn’t get any better!

Or so I thought.  To add the cherry on top, my friend, who I call Maximax, offered me to be on The Board while we chatted on BBM.

Let Freedom Ring

The last exam of my university life is less than 24 hours away. And the motivation I have to study for it could not stoop any lower. With all the excitement of crossing the finish line, can you really blame me?

When you have a lot of ideas and opinions to voice, just start blogging!
~ Anonymous (me under disguise)

I’m a story teller.  Everyday, I make someone listen to me as I talk about how I caught my bus last minute, which YouTube video I watched, why my little brother made me laugh, or what I think about a politician who’s acting up.  Mostly, I find myself victimizing a fellow school buddy for this purpose.  But now that I’m about to finish the final year of my undergrad, it just hit me that I will no longer meet the people I’ve been seeing for the past four years!  And of course, it’s a given that they’re gonna miss hearing about my adventures… 😛

So in light of this sad reality, I’ve decided to join the blogosphere to not only keep in touch with friends, but to also connect with new people who share my interests.  Why not use Facebook and Twitter for this purpose?  Because tweets and status updates kinda suck.  Sure, they tell you that people are still alive, but I believe it’s much more meaningful to read a piece written by someone you personally know or have been following for sometime.

Here, I wanna share the extraordinary lessons I learn from an ordinary life.  I want this blog to expand and mature.  But it can go crazy and then stay crazy if it wants.  It can even go missing and then rediscover itself.  I’ll be writing about a whole bunch of stuff – life, travel, religion, current events, music, or even my random observations as a bystander on the street.  As a matter of fact, I was going to call this blog “The Everything Blog” until my sister told me that it would be really “lame.” I believe her.

Um, someone please tell me why I didn’t start blogging earlier…?  Because I just got really thrilled about it.  Anyhow, I’m excited to have you join me and please don’t be afraid to comment and say hi! 🙂

Welcome to my Blog!
