Audiobooks & podcasts are definitely my main source of on-going “life” education. I listen to them while cleaning or doing the dishes and definitely on the train to work. I find it helps me get the most value out of my time while doing the somewhat boring & repetitive tasks.
While audiobooks are great for light fiction or for learning about non-fiction topics in depth, podcasts are more conversational and less formal, which makes them easier and more fun to listen to.
As promised on Instagram, I am sharing my current Top 5 favourite podcasts. Of course they’re all free! You can listen to them on the Podcasts app on iPhone or on the podcats website, iTunes website, or even Soundcloud in some cases.

If you follow my Instagram stories, you’ve heard me raving about this one. This podcast by Sara Tasker is my absolute favourite! Basically, you can get nerdy over Instagram as you listen to her, without feeling like you’re crazy. But it’s more than just Instagram. Sara discusses topics like self-doubt, staying true to yourself, and having the courage to follow your creative instincts. She brings on amazing guests who share stories of how they have achieved their dreams through the world of online creativity. If you have a creative itch, you will absolutely love this podcast to get you started!
Category: Culture & Lifestyle Inspiration
I don’t think TED talks need any introduction. I particularly love listening to the “Society + Culture” TED podcast because it challenges societal norms and makes you think about certain beliefs that you’ve grown up with. The presenters who speak at these TED events have often been through life-changing experiences or discovered something revolutionary through their studies. I always find that they do an amazing job at helping you see things from a brand new point of view, which is sometimes exactly what you need. Highly recommended!
Category: Motherhood/Home/Family-Life Tips
This podcast by Allie give you amazing practical solutions and tips for how you can simplify your life at home and spend more quality time with your loved ones. I will just write down here how she starts her podcast because it captures her message perfectly: Mom life: we’re surrounded with the message that it’s the tired life, the no-time-for-myself life, the HARD life. And while it is hard and full of lots of servitude, the idea that motherhood means a joy-less life is something I’m passionate about putting a stop to. I’m on a mission to help you stop counting down the minutes till bedtime (at least most days). I want you to stop cleaning up after your kids’ childhood, and start being present for it – start enjoying it! Definitely recommend for moms and moms-to-be.
Category: Social Media Marketing, Creative Entrepreneurship & Branding Tips
Jenna Kutcher is the most humble and down-to-earth host of this amazing podcast. It is gold for creative girl-bosses or girl-boss wanna-be’s. Besides covering goal-setting, marketing and branding, she also delves into topics like diversity and stress-management. People often write to her with their questions as well and it is amazing to see how many ideas she can come up with while just thinking on her feet! She genuinely wants to help people out and every episode of her podcast is motivating and FULL of tips.
5) On Being
Category: Spirituality, Philosophy, Religions, Gratitude, Human Experience, everything!
On Being is the podcast where you can get really deep into philosophical and psychological questions about human existence. I feel like a lot of the topics discussed on the podcast are things that we wonder about in the back of our minds but we’ve been conditioned not to ask them or not to bother giving much thought to them. Krista brings on guests who are scientists, theologians, artists and teachers and they leave you having learned something new and extraordinary about your existence as a rational, emotional human being in this world.
So these are my current favourites! What podcasts do you listen to for inspiration? I would love your recommendations so let me know in the comments below! 🙂
