Two Weeks in Italy – Family Travel Itinerary

HI GUYS 😀

So many of you on Instagram requested to see my Italian trip itinerary. I thought I’d sit down and write it before I forget everything. If you’re planning a two-week trip to Italy, this itinerary will give you an idea of what cities you can cover, some basic daily transportation information, where you can stay and a summary of what you can plan to see. I personally think it’s so detailed that you can print it and run with it! 🙂 Before you skip to the itinerary, do read the following: Everyone travels differently. For some this may be too slow, and for others it may be too fast. Personally, I felt that our itinerary worked out great for us. We pretty much had an extra day in Rome as well as in Florence. In Venice, I would’ve added one more day. (Actually that was the plan but then there was a plot twist. More on that in a future post.) If I were just traveling with my husband, I would totally use the extra days to make two more day trips. However, that is challenging with a child. An Italian vacation is quite tiring as it is. There is non-stop walking, steps to climb, crowds to maneuver through, and long queues to stand in. Our daughter needed to nap mid-day. We were also carrying her stroller, and a heavy bag of extra pull-ups, extra clothes, snacks and cameras lol 😀 So I think it was great that we had a couple of extra days as we didn’t feel too rushed. We were able to say – okay, if we don’t get a chance to visit such and such place tonight, we can try to come here on the last day… And the fact that Rome, Florence and Venice were all totally walkable made it very easy to do so.

I will go into more detail in some upcoming detailed blogposts. But this is my full 2-week itinerary for those of you who wanted this shared fast lol. I’ve also added details of our accommodations along with our ratings of each place. Some places we thought were great and others not so much, so you can read my comments and decide for yourself.

  1. Hi Anam, thanks for sharing this amazing post. Me and my husband are going on a 3 week Europe trip at the end of 2017. We will be visiting Italy as well. This itinerary will help us a lot! ❤️
